Context evaluation on implementation of English for Islamic studies program in IAIN Palu, Indonesia

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Teaching English for Islamic Studies (EIS) at IAIN Palu, Indonesia, from context component. Evaluation component is one part Stufflebeam’s CIPP model program evaluation consisting evaluation, input process and product evaluation. It highlighted need analysis goal EIS as well supporting factors constraints program. Ninety-seven second-semester students five programs, namely: Education Management, Arabic Language Education, Da’wah & Communication, Al-Qur’an Science Tafsir, Syariah Banking were chosen a sample through stratified random sampling. The questionnaires used seek perceptions lecturers. data are also supported by semi-structured interview with heads departments, designer authorized official, class observation examination relevant written documents. results showed that aspects in this effective general. findings reveal needs become stepping stone development Indonesian learners.
